Aroma/Essential Oils Therapy: The ability of essential oils to act on both mind and body is what makes them truly unique among natural therapeutic agents. And the fragrance of another essential oil may be calming and sedating, helping to overcome anxiety or hyperactivity. Essential oils are some of the most powerful known antioxidants, are antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiviral, and antiseptic. Essential oils promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Trigger Point: Trigger points can present themselves as referred patterns of sensation such as sharp pain, dull ache, tingling, pins and needles hot or cold, as well as can create symptoms such as nausea, ear ache, equilibrium disturbance, or blurred vision. These small, hyperirritable sites in the muscle tissue sometimes refer pain to other locations as in headaches or sciatica. It is closely aligned with the eastern technique of acupressure massage and treatment techniques are very similar. Trigger point is a pain-relief technique to alleviate muscle spasms and cramping. The therapist locates and deactivates “trigger points” which are often tender. These areas are where muscles have been damaged or acquired a recurring spasm or kink that worsens painfully when aggravated. The major goals are to reduce spasm and induce new blood flow into the affected area. Spasms also physically reduce blood flow to the trigger point area (ischemia), reducing oxygen supplied to the tissues and increasing the spasm. Pressure is applied to trigger points, for a short time (between 7 to 10 seconds), which can be momentarily painful but is greatly relieving.

Sports Massage: Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used. The technique often involves a blend of traditional Swedish Massage and Deep Pressure specifically designed to treat professional athletes. Each type of sport has different demands on the players. Each sport uses muscle groups in a different way. Sports massage is designed to address those specific concerns and may differ according to the sport the athlete plays.
Reflexology/Foot Massage: Reflexology is a gentle form of therapeutic treatment applied to the feet and sometimes to the hands. The feet are said to contain reflex areas that mirror and connect to all parts of the body including major organs and pressure on these points can actually influence your state of health. Function in the connecting area is improved and, at the same time, the body experiences overall relaxation and benefits to the circulation and elimination systems. When the body’s systems are at optimal functioning, self-healing is enhanced. Reflexology is viewed primarily as a stress reduction or relaxation technique. Using the thumb, finger, and hand, gentle pressure is applied to reflex areas of the feet in order to decrease stress and bring the body into equilibrium. A treatment usually lasts between 40 minutes and 1 hour.

Deep Tissue: Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons, and fascia. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, you should feel better than ever within a day or two. Because many toxins are released, it is important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
